Friday night a few friends and I headed into Bushwick to try the new ramen place, Shinobi. Shinobi opened in November to the happy surprise of Bushwick residents, since they have limited good choices in food. Shinobi is a straight up ramen place the only other offerings were a few appetizers, like dumplings and karaage chicken. I was a little skeptical when I read the broth was chicken based but it was phenomenal especially the spicy miso paste choices, with delicious juicy pork pieces, scallion, egg, corn, and cabbage. I will warn you don't add Tougarashi like I did because you'll pay for it later, tooooo spicy! It's super cute decor, but the seating is a little weird, mostly counters along the walls and large community table that fit about 12 people. Get there early, and byob. I definitely would go back.
I got all sorts of good reading materials this week. First I was so excited to get Jenna's zine, Little Book of MT Masking Tape. The package was so cute and she included a precious mini envelope, a lovely polaroid postcard, and a sweet kokeshi sticker. The book is chock full of projects and lovely photos and collages. Thanks Jenna!
Next up I got the MT book box set that comes with a lovely crafty book, with lots of MT tape fun projects plus the box includes to MT tapes. Since I was in Kinokuniya I stopped by their MT tape section to see if they had anything new so I picked up a couple of more tapes. I'm going to need a bigger storage box to keep my MT collection!
