June's here!

"June Bug" 2008©janneserojas

I got my new Blythe yesterday! Her name is June Bug. I fixed her frizzy hair last night and made her a new crochet hat today. The pattern was totally made up, it's a little wonky but you really have to look to tell.

At the Craft fair this weekend

Dollparts and Candy (sans me)

So the Craft Fair at the Brooklyn Lyceum went pretty well, better than expected considering mother nature wasn't playing fair this weekend, in NYC. Even with the snow, ice, and freezing temperature people came out, to browse and buy. I think the strain on the economy really held some people back. Most people have the one for you one for me attitude during the holiday shopping season but not this time around. People were being very selective and carefully spending their money, sadly for us. Adriana (Saru-Saru)and I both manage to make our table rent and make a wee bit of profit at least enough to cover some materials, but no compensation for the oodles of time we put into making our wares. It's okay, we had fun and I met some other nice Crafters. We had some good customers and some strange ones. I had one little girl whisper in her mom's ear about one of my paintings, she asked her mom why was the girl only wearing underwear. I of course came up with a lame answer, her mom being a mom told her the girl must be hot. Then I had a mother and daughter team of the older variety (no children this time),while looking at my neckwarmers saw my scarf, and wondered out loud, "I wonder what this is suppose to warm, I sure like to meet it *wink wink*". The scarf was a long and narrow scarf. I told the ladies, "Ladies you've got dirty minds I only make clean stuff over here. They must have had me confused with another Etsy seller. All in all it was a good weekend.

Stop by, check out our crafty goods, and perhaps make a purchase for that special someone. There will be food, drinks, and a dj, so it should be a lot of fun. Check out the Brooklyn Lyceum's info page for directions.

Just finished my ipod cover

I got a new ipod about 3 months ago and I kept saying "I gotta make a cover" and I never did. But I worked on this one yesterday and I'm pretty happy with it. Although when I finished making it I realized I needed a hole for the headphones plug. I snip a little hole and then basically hand stitched a button hole. Now it's perfect!

Look for it on October 27th. I'll link a post to it as soon as it's up, although I will be in Japan when it goes online. But I think I can squeeze in a post or two while in Japan ;)

Just ordered Miss Sally Rice

Okay so I had myself convinced that after Mrs. Retro Mama, there would be no more girls for me, WRONG! This blue hair gal had me at hello. She has the prettiest skin color and makeup. Her face is very much like a kenner, luvvvvv her!

Thought she may look too much like Candy Carnival who I already have but she really doesn't, CC has a Superior face, MSR has a Radiance face, which has that poutie mouth.MSR also has minty blue hair and a very fair complexion. Can't wait to get her!

Last part of Jo's gift

Kinda late. Like a week and 1/2 late posting this but, better late than never. My friend Jo at work had her shower a week and 1/2 ago and I gave her handmade gifts, this is the set including the booties that I never got a chance to post because I was trying to get myself together for my Miami trip.

Lions, and tigers, and bears! OH MY!

I finished this teddy bear for my friend Jo, who I work with,it's the first part of her baby shower gift, I making two linen bib's to match. One of the bib's is almost complete just have to sew on the snap. One side of the bib is a cute Japanese print on linen and the other is soft baby blue cotton jersey. I'll put pics up later this weekend. The other bib I will embroider something cute to match. I would like to make a pair a baby booties too. If I have time I'll try and make a changing blanket also embroidered. I need terry cloth or soft waffle cloth for the other side of the blanket, don't have that laying around oddly enough, considering I have the makings of a fabric and craft store in my studio.

Have cat will travel

Okay, the Japanese have outdone themselves this time. This is an earthquake survival kit for your pet to wear! It has all sorts of pockets with water bags, food, and essential oils to sooth your pet when your whole house comes crashing around you ears. Plus it has a handy dandy handle so you can carry your pet around like a briefcase, so convenient. All for the low price of $375. Oh and someone explain to me how your cat is suppose to unzip the pocket and reach it, for a water bag when your under the rubble, I'm just saying.
