RUUM KIDS WEAR- NEW STORE IN TRIBECA

Today I visited the new store by Ruum Kids Wear in Tribeca. What's great about this store is that it looks & feels like a beautiful Tribeca boutique but your wallet won't be crying when you leave because the prices are totally reasonable. I know I'm biased in thinking that the design and style of Ruum's brand and store are chic, quirky and trend right since I design girls graphics for them but really you all my taste level based on my blog and Ruum really brings a great kids brand to the table. Here are some shots of the new store in Tribeca, lots of great work by lots of talented designers. RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM RUUM

Yayoi Kusama-I Who Have Arrived In Heaven

IMG_4877
On Wednesday I stood on line for almost 3 hours to see Yayoi Kusama's exbition at David Zwirner Gallery. The line is for Kusama-san's installation "The Souls of a Million Light Years Away", an ethereal 3-D experience inside a small mirrored room with thousands of little led lights floating in the air ,reflected in the mirrors and the water surrounding the standing platform. Its like that game 7 minutes in heaven, except you aren't making out and seeing stars you are in a room bathed in tiny stars for 45 seconds. THe room feels like it stretches out into infinity, giving it its nickname, the Infinity Room. Kusama-san also has two other installations in the gallery plus a collection of brilliant paintings. The other to installation, one consist of Kusama-san in a self-video singing a song called "Manahattan Suicide Addict", also the name of the video installation. Kusama-san also has added giant mirrors making the video repeat into infinity. The third installation is called "Love is Calling" and it's another mirrored room this time much larger where multiple viewers can participate and its filled with giant psychedelic polkadot tentacles. This room was a little like a fun-house but slightly more disturbing. I loved the whole show including her paintings, I would recommend if you are in New York stand on line and see the installations its well worth the 3 hour wait. Show runs until December 21st.

Arthur Ave via Instagram

I've been holding off on posting about my trip to Arthur Avenue in the Bronx for a couple of weeks in hopes I would get my film back soon, but alas that's not happening soon so I will show you with my Instagram photos which are super fun too. Arthur Avenue is a small stretch of restaurants and food markets solely of old school Italian food. Absolutely delicious! Also I want to explain my Polyvore blast on my blog. I've recently started creating sets on Polyvore and I'm a little addicted. I want to share these with you because I thought you may like a little cute fashion every once in while. I've also been interviewing like crazy for a new design job and I'm on the fashion train right now polishing up my research knowledge. So I hope you don't mind me adding my Polyvore sets but I promise its not going to take over the blog. I will add a little button of sets on the left-side of the blog if you want to follow me. Oh and Stationery winners your stuff went out yesterday hope you get it soon.
