I've been trying to really enjoy any day I have that I'm not working and a couple of days ago, before heading into a week long design job, my friends and I popped out around the corner to this lovely little restaurant in our neighborhood, Rucola. I had a delicious smoked trout salad occupied by a delightful Gaffel Kolsch beer. D, had the same and our friend Ben had the slow pork sandwich. Rucola is so cute, it has a real rustic feel, it's like stepping into a little taverna in Europe.
After lunch I meandered two blocks over to One Girl Cookies to get a moon pie, another great place in the hood to pick up a sweet! Then I went into Paper Source a stationery store and I checked out the Martha Stewart cut-outs, super pretty.

Tokyo Home Atelier + MT Tapes!
I wandered into Kinokuniya recently for a beverage and then I just had a few minutes to check out the MT Tape section, and low and behold they got in most of the new tapes. I was elated! Finally the tapes I had wished for with the mushrooms and the animals! I also got the mini envelopes, the envelope closures, and some new patterns! Kinokuniya keeps adding new stuff to their stationery section and I found these cute kraft notebooks, too! Then I've been looking at this book for a long time and finally added it to my collection Tokyo Home Atelier, a collection of designers with home studios, much like myself. I wanted to get some ideas while we continue to update our home studio, especially as an accessories designer you end up with a lot of supplies and need new ways to store things. The book also showcases a lot of the lovely work done by each designer.

So-en: Pretty Things
So-en is my favorite Japanese magazine along with Fudge here are the last two issues, I'm waiting for April...
Sooo many pretty things and the models are adorable. I love the girl standing in front of the door eating a sammie and holding a shopping bag, that picture is everything I love about photography and Japan.

A little work and little fun-playing catchup
This past week was a packed calendar, first I have to apologize for my lack of updates. I've been getting regular freelance gigs now and whenever I have a little time I'm out enjoying the sunshine.
I rode my bike in the park and saw lots of fine feathered friends.
Then I took these fuzzy heads to the park for a good romp.
Walked around my hood with a good friend, Ben.
Headed into Soho for some shopping and enjoying the lovely weather.
I hit P&S Fabric store for notions and supplies to finish Miss Francie's sitting pad.
Then I popped into Top Shop for these sweetie pie shoes.
I worked up a serious appetite and I needed to stock up on Japanese groceries so off to Sunrise Mart for oshinko (pickles), green tea, abura-age (fried tofu for soup and inari-zushi) and a few other things. Of course ate there, I had a a yummy katsu curry bento. I love all the packaging it's so cute.
