I share these lovely zines with happiness and a little sadness, because our dear friend Sewon gave these to me and D as a going away gift. Sewon is moving on with her very adventurous life outside of New York and she will be sorely missed by us. With that said I am thrilled to be the owner of these fine zines, the photography in both is exquisite and the Korean recipe are scrumptious!
In other news, in continuing with my collection of vintage ephemera to use in my stationery I just purchased these lovelies...more to come....
The Brooklyn Zinefest happened last weekend, after months of preparation it was a complete success! I tabled with a dear friend and talented writer/photographer Sewon, who had a loverly collection of photo zines, and new Korean recipe zine with gorgeous photos and yummy recipes. We had a a lot of fun even when we had moments where we were overwhelmed by the crowd and little sustenance. Public Assembly (venue)hit capacity around 3pm and a line formed around the corner, the event was written up in the New York Times and Time Out New York, so
everyone came out. I can't to do it again next year! Here's are a few shots from the event.....
I recently went to St. Marks bookshop in the East Village and they carry a nice collection of zines. I picked up two photo zines. The first one is by Lucie E. Kim, and its a collection of photos from her time lecturing at Parsons in Japan, My Orb helped put this one out. Next up is another photo zine called Hotels also by My Orb is a series of Hotel rooms from all over the world. Both are lovely.
