a Brooklyn Wedding

My sister was married last month and I photographed her wedding entirely on film and D was my assistant and backed me up digitally until I ran out of film then I took over the digital SLR too. Yeah I'm a camera hog, I admit it. Anywho, I've been away from the blog for a few days because I've been furiously working on her wedding present which is a collection of the photographs as a storybook/photobook plus I've been trying to wrap up the Tokyo guide zine (almost done :) I wanted to share just a few of the shots from my sister's wedding. I have the whole photo story up on my portfolio . It's a very annotated story, since I shot about 200 on film and 200 digital and I have 26 up, but I feel like it tells the whole story.

More Sakura Festival!

A Girl and a Dress

I finally got my pattern books out and picked a dress to make with the Nani Iro fabric I bought to sell ( no worries I have plenty for sale) on etsy.
I found all the pieces of the pattern which can always prove to be a challenge with Japanese patterns luckily there were only 5 pieces. I got out my pattern tracing paper and permanent skinny markers and traced the pattern, then cut it. Now I'm ready for the fabric but I had to take a True blood break with my partner and furry babies.

I've started sketching more these days, I've put together a multi-artistic tote bag to take with me everyday on the subway. I have a large Shinzi Katoh bag that I stock with a thick sketch book, colored pens, mechanical pencil, eraser, Pigma Micron markers, 2 crochet projects, crochet hooks and a little sewing kit.
With this in tow everyday I'm sure to create something. Below is a little girl I sketched out for a doll I would like to sew.

FINALLY! A real website!

Alright folks I finally got my shit together and now I have a real website for my portfolio. My blogs will still be around I'm just dropping the one that was just about my artwork since my portfolio will cover all that and this blog is linked. I still have to add some sections, particularly I need to add a doll costuming/clothing section and crafting section.Plus I need to add more of my photos to the doll series section. Some cool news!

Yours truly, well my tee & tote shop, Milky Mellow will be featured or more like reviewed on wecovet.com. I find this pretty exciting and really awesome publicity never hurts. Look for it on October 27th. I'll link a post to it as soon as it's up, although I will be in Japan when it goes online. But I think I can squeeze in a post or two while in Japan ;)

Finally a glimmer of the music video!

I found this still shot on Leah Siegel's myspace so this isn't my photo, hope no one gets mad. But how exciting to finally see what the video is going to look like and see my little dress on Leah's character doll, yay! Ro (director, Ro Rao) gotta give you your props, this looks awesome!

Hard at work

So I busted my ass making these pieces look like a real person is wearing them, and think I did a damn fuckin' good job! The orange dress still needs buttons not sure about the grey one, I'm thinking about it. I think it looks cleanier and just elegant with the hidden button look.
