Hervé Morvan, Fog Linen, and MT Tape

Last week was a good week for getting some really awesome stuff. Since I was working near the Kinokuniya in NYC I took a break and went shopping in the bookstore and came home with these lovely tapes and this wonderful book filled with French Poster art by Hervé Morvan. Of course no trip to Kinokuniya can be without some washi tape, I bought the thinner tape three packs. I also ordered from the heavenly linen store, Fog Linen, their fabric swatches and tapes which make great mini projects or just wonderful gift wrapping ideas. Plus beautiful linen kitchen towels, the two scandinavian blue towels, in gingham and stripe. Thanks to Beebee for sharing.

Dry Goods-Brooklyn Zakka Shop

dry goods

This Wednesday I finally got to pop into new shop in my neighborhood Dry Goods, a lovely zakka shop on Atlantic avenue. The store mainly focuses on heritage products, mostly American but they also important stuff from Europe and Japan. Dry Goods, has lovely things like Jadite, MT tapes (pretty much almost all of them), vintage and new stationery, plus they carry new brands that take pride in their products like Merchant and Mills, a wonderful sewing notions vendor from England. I walked away with a few things from their shop, a roll of cotton gingham placemats from Spain called Drap, they tear off like paper towels. I little packet of lovely vintage airmail envelopes, and a vintage wax paper fromage bag from France.

Cover Your Eyes Here Comes the Stash!

This past week was a bit of a busy one but I found time to work on a quilted eye mask which I will soon have as a mini zine with the pattern and how-to. Then most exciting I went to Tinsel Trading, one of the most wonderful crafty goods stores in NYC, it's filled with vintage stock!!! In perfectly new condition! I got only a few things because it is on the pricing side. I brought home two little bags filled with ten yards of vintage trims, a pink-lot and multi-lot. Then a lovely bottle of colorful vintage beads and Bunny gold German Dresden. I bought these all with a very specific project for Usagi Por Moi tune in soon....shhhhh..... You can never have too many usagis :)

A little work and little fun-playing catchup

This past week was a packed calendar, first I have to apologize for my lack of updates. I've been getting regular freelance gigs now and whenever I have a little time I'm out enjoying the sunshine.

I rode my bike in the park and saw lots of fine feathered friends.

I worked up a serious appetite and I needed to stock up on Japanese groceries so off to Sunrise Mart for oshinko (pickles), green tea, abura-age (fried tofu for soup and inari-zushi) and a few other things. Of course ate there, I had a a yummy katsu curry bento. I love all the packaging it's so cute.
